Completed application packages are due by June 30, 2023. Scholarship awards are announced by August 13, 2023. The Foundation offers several scholarships including the general Dream 4 It Foundation Scholarship and, Legacy Scholarships. You can learn more about our “Legacy Designees” under the ABOUT THE FOUNDATION section of this site.
All scholarship funds have the same basic requirements, with the Mark Edward Griffin Memorial Scholarship including additional stipulations. Scholars should complete one application – detailing, where indicated on the application cover sheet if they meet the stipulations for the Mark Edward Griffin Memorial Scholarship.
The following general requirements must be met:
- Applicant must be a High School senior who will be a freshman in fall 2023 pursuing a 4 or 2-year degree (acceptance letter must be provided). There is also a specific scholarship for someone choosing a career in the trades.
- Applicants must submit a copy of their fourth quarter report card showing their cumulative GPA for the year with the application. With a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Given the situation with Covid-19, the application review committee will be sensitive to SPECIFIC situations where providing grades could be delayed. - Applicants must complete a minimum of 1 (single space) or 2-page essay (double spaced) - which shares with the review committee the applicant’s “Dream” for their future. The essay should also include information about the applicant’s community involvement ((location, tenure, duties, volunteer hours (weekly, monthly), etc.
- Applicants must provide three recommendation letters which are addressed to the Dream 4 It Foundation’s scholarship. Letters not addressed to the Dream 4 It Foundation, will not be accepted. The letters should reflect active participation in Church, Civic or School Organizations and one letter should be from a school representative (teacher, principal, career counselor). The letters should provide the author’s contact information and should only be one page in length.
